Gen Tilly and Flexx toast the inauguration of Ebony Nights
This past Monday was the first episode of Ebony Nights on Rude TV. My co-host Gen Tilly is such a damn trooper. She was feeling a little out of it but still came through and helped me put on what we thought was a pretty good first show, considering that co-hosting a show was brand new to her. I think we’re gonna work some seriously entertaining magic for y’all.
Though a lot of it was new for me as well, there was still some “blast from the past” moments for me that night. Driving up to the station brought back a lot of memories, when I’m trying to get in “the zone” and figure out exactly how I’m gonna approach the topic of the night.
Then I walk in the building and, in our green room (dubbed the Blue Balls Room) I see, getting ready to guest appear on another show, adult industry vets Diana DeVoe and John E Depth. Both people who have been guests on the original Ebony Nights. It kinda took me by surprise, especially considering that I haven’t really seen either of them in years. Diana was one of the first people that I met in my early days of trying to get my foot into the door of Porn Valley. I doubt either of them remember me. But hey, that’s par for the course.
It was pretty easy to get back into the groove of running my mouth on a show, especially since all the people I used to work with before are now here at RudeTV. The first few minutes felt a bit awkward (as you could probably tell by watching), but as Wank said to me right before I went on, it was just like riding a bike. I’m normally a quiet and reserved guy in public. So when I gotta fire up my on-air persona, I need to psych up. That’s what I feared would give me trouble.
I expect the shows to get a lot more live, as Gen is a naturally bubbly person, and I can feed off of that well. We’ve officially come full circle -Ebony Nights is reborn…
